The best features of this product pertain to the time management tools that take place in the calendar's displayed, over your existing background image. The time management tools include audio reminders and private or public alarm notes. You can share the calendar layer with other computers and if you enable the desktop interactivity, you can click on dates, notes, and tasks to view or add information.

The program does not supply background images, but works as a layer over the top of one installed through Windows. The calendars appear in 2 or 3 month blocks either with or without text. The versatility is limited because it does not offer template or style choices, but only font, icon and color options.

Ease of Use:  

When you install this program, it turns on automatically and is active all the time. In addition, the background image is set to a default image after installation and you have to uninstall or change it back within the program.

There is not a calendar creator wizard to get you started, but you can easily add a note or an event to a specific day by double clicking on the date.

We had no problems during the setup and the installation of Active Desktop Calendar. This software will run on computers installed with Vista.
